Came across an inconsistency between what the game lists as the construction time for a building compared to the encyclopedia's listing. School in game says 32 hours, and the encyclopedia is 64 hours. And no, I am not under the Dark Aura. Haven't started trying to build it yet to see what the actual time is.

Okay, so it's not just the school; every building I can make, although the build time for machinery appears the same, as well as spells. Although the scout tower shows up as 8 hours and the encyclopedia says 15.

I think this is just a mistake... it should only take the shorter time to build any building.

Yes Metior50... it does affect time building BUT that was not the question asked.

It's not a bug and not a mistake, we've shortened the time to build x2 to jumpstart the development, and forgot to fix the Encyclopedia accordingly.
Just enjoy!
