In part 5 of humanophages very short newbie guide.
http://terrabellica.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=738
It says Click the portrait of the hero and invest two points in close combat and one in logistics. I dont see anyplace w/ points or a way to assign them.
I was looking @ my lvl 3 hero.

Now i need to figure out how bad i messed up.
i attacked the orc badgut w/ my lvl 3 hero and 20 swordsmen. I went in w/out upgrading my hero, and lost 5 swordsman, killed some orcs, but we both live to fight another day.
Does the damage done to the orcs stay permament or can i pick up where i left off, fighting wounded orcs?
Once i learn to invest points in hero should i go in w/ my 15 troops or build back up to 20?
My lvl 3 hero found a nice composite bow. does equipping this make him a ranged attacker, or will he just get the bonus if he attacks from a ranged position?

If you click the Heroes portrait (Top left of the information panel) it will bring up a secondary window where you can assign stats, send your hero to the Arena, and take a snapshot of the Heroes surroundings.

For ressetting health, im not 100% sure on that. I assume you are on the quest where the Orc stole some property, (Kresp is such a douche, letting his minions thieve when you are under his protection)

Yes i found the secondary screen your talking about. its on that screen that i dont see how or where to assign points. i hover the mouse all over and nothing.

I took your advice and entered the arena. I took the snapshot. I have no idea what that accomplished. :)
You are correct about the mission i'm on.

He just gets the bonus if he makes a ranged attack.
However the difference won't be distinguishable.
You shoud make each hero a professional in some field. If he specializes in close combat he should have Close Combat: 4, Leadership: 4 and a hammer or a sword artifacts of 3-4th lvl. Then he's a real menace.
Same with a marksman.

E.g. Close Combat: 0 [+]
Click the + sign twice.
To get to level 3 you need to visit a school, level 4 - academy buildings.

No, just - School.
For heroes. You dont have to make it in all the towns though. Or in none of them.
If your ally has a city with a school, you can learn stuff from it too.

Is it true that I have only 6 spaces for buildings in a city? with Tavern, Barracks, Citedal, Wall am left with 2 spaces? which means I must choose wisely what kind of buildings I should build there. Right?

Upgrade to a town. Villages are useless.

Yes, thats only for villages. Like the admin said - they're useless.
So you should not hesitate building the citadel if you have the resources.
Once your citadel is built, your village will become a town.
Then your building slots will double, AND you will be able to create better buildings - like the road, factory and military buildings like the mage tower, stables, and the School for heroes.
You'll also get 2 more serfs who you can use as rented mules who have pathetic meaningless lives, and suck their hard earned money like mosquitoes sucking blood from cows.
