What does 'advanced buildings' mean?
3 are needed to to progress from citadel.

All you have to do is occupy 3 construction slots with buildings.

I fathomed what 'advanced buildings' means...

Upgrade Barricks to Garison, Fencing School to Order of the Shield etc

That works too, but any 3 building that were not available in a village is OK.

OK... I am now TOTALLY confused

What I am trying to do is build a 'Palace' so that I can progress from a Citadel to a Metropolis. It says I can not build it until I have '3 advanced buildings in the city'.

*I have enough Karma to do it.
*I have built 5 more buildings in the town.
*I have upgraded Barracks to Garrison, Fencing School to Order of the Shield and Archery Butts to Shooting Range.
*I have upgraded 3 buildings to level 13 (Factory, Roads & Garrison)

When I try to make a Metropolis I am STILL told that I need '3 advanced buildings in the town'...

WHAT have I not done? Does anybody know?

I will have to leave DA protection very soon & I was hoping to have a Metropolis built before that happens

Is it IMPOSSIBLE to build a Metropolis while still in DA protection???

Yes, this is exactly why you can't build a Metropolis. You're still under DA.

Advanced buildings is incorrect description. To build citadel (town) you need 2 any buildings. To build palace (metropolis) you need 3 any other buildings including. In other words: in village build tavern and market, next build citadel, next build scout tower and now we can build metropolis. Buildings may be any.
