Managing Director and Co-Founder of Cardbyte, Mr. Navinn Kapur provides an overview of the organization

What is the idea behind CardByte? What services does the application offer?

Currently, we are part of a new online world where intense networking forms the basis of the daily functioning of any business or professional. I find it hard to understand that paper business cards remain the predominant method for networking and exchanging contact information, even with the aggressive digital transformation the industry has witnessed.

I created and launched the CardByte platform in January 2022, aiming to make it easier to share, organize and effortlessly access all their business cards and business contacts while limiting the use of paper cards.

CardByte is India’s first end-to-end business card-based contact management and networking platform that aims to streamline business networking and pre-CRM processes by leveraging the power of artificial intelligence (AI). The app allows users to create digital business cards, exchange them inside and outside their network, organize them using customizable tags, and store them on a secure cloud architecture. Additionally, the app’s smart scanner allows users to automatically scan paper cards into e-cards and stores them on the in-app wallet, saving up to 75% of the time spent manually storing them.

We launched the C2C version of our platform for everyone in January 2022. The comprehensive feature set offered by the platform has received an affirmative response from users and has been adopted across various industries and professions. Our team is currently working on the Enterprise version of the platform which will offer a host of new features such as integration with CRM, collaboration tools and end-to-end integrations as well as advanced analytics for businesses and teams. We also plan to increase the size of our team by 250% by the end of this year to help us revolutionize the digital contact management landscape in India.

How Digital Maps are Playing a Vital Role in the Evolution of Businesses in India

The industry still struggles to effectively use business cards to generate growth opportunities and business leads. In fact, companies sometimes lose up to 80% of their potential opportunities due to the unavailability of a digital, centralized contact database. Digital business cards have multiple advantages over paper cards:

Contact management platforms help users build and manage their network with validated and latest contact information from their peers.

  • Excellent time and cost efficiency

An efficient contact management platform can reduce annual spending on business cards by 80% and save up to 75% on time spent on redundant processes

  • Improved contact retention time

90% of paper business cards are thrown away within a week of being exchanged, but contact management software means you never lose an important contact again.

  • Real-time monitoring of all network changes

A contact card with outdated information is as good as no contact at all. Contact management software keeps users informed of all changes in their network in real time.

What role does technology play in business? What are the benefits of AI?

CardByte is a cloud-native platform built using a microservices architecture. It leverages artificial intelligence to access the undiscovered network and unlock business opportunities. At CardByte, we’ve taken AI from prototype to product by developing a new state-of-the-art computer vision and machine learning-based convolutional neural network suit that can deliver the desired performance on the limited resources of the smartphone. It uses smart and efficient advanced computing techniques to balance resources while performing complex computer vision tasks.

The architecture is based on the principles of durability, elasticity, resilience, scalability, security and availability. It is accessible from any device with mobile-first design and offers mobile app supported on iOS, Android and web.

How did CardByte come up with the idea to introduce a subscription plan, and what is the idea and agenda behind it?

During my previous tenures as an entrepreneur, I realized the challenges associated with managing and storing large numbers of business cards on a regular basis. No matter who you are – a business trying to increase sales or an individual trying to network effectively – exchanging business cards is a no-brainer. But from forgetting to carry paper business cards to having trouble scanning them, the whole process is offline and very disorganized. This got me wondering how businesses and professionals can organize and track their network without spending hours managing it. The answer is CardByte. It not only solves all your contact management problems, but even ticks the boxes of being eco-friendly, digital-first, and secure.

We wanted CardByte to be accessible to everyone, especially underserved business communities. Keeping this in mind, our platform operates on a freemium revenue model. Even our paid subscriptions are priced so that the user saves up to 80% of their annual spending on paper business cards and up to 75% of the time spent manually organizing them. Additionally, our basic plan will remain completely free and offer unlimited contact storage and AI-powered analytics to all users.

How does CardByte contribute to the environment and society?

Each year, 7.2 million trees are felled to print 90 to 100 billion paper business cards. Additionally, paper business cards are generally difficult to recycle due to the complexities involved. CardByte’s platform digitizes these paper cards and helps reduce each user’s individual carbon footprint. CardByte not only avoids cutting down trees, but also plants a new tree for every successful subscription on its platform.

CardByte also aims to educate people about the restrictive use of paper and educate them about climate change concerns, so that they can help save the environment, as the negative environmental impacts will have dramatic consequences for affected communities. .
